Timing Your Spell Work With Days of the Week

Hello and thanks for stopping by! Today we are taking a look at timing spells with planetary hours and days of the week.

In some magickal systems it is believed that the position and phase of the moon are important things to consider for spell work, just the same, it is thought to be just as relevant to consider the day of the week and the hour of the day due to planetary influences.

We see this information date as far back as 2nd Century BCE, where it is found in the Greek Papyri and Egyptian Hermetic texts. Later we see it in The Key of Solomon, the Picatrix, Agrippa's 3 books of the occult to name a few. We see this information preserved through the Renaissance and making it here to the modern day where we see it in countless grimoires (and with good reason).

Below are some correspondences to the days of the week that you may want to consider when crafting your spell or intentional work, there are more than what I have listed here, and maybe there are some you have discovered work well for you. This is not meant to limit only to inspire.

Protection, Willpower, Wisdom Saturday is ruled by Saturn - the Task Master. This planet's energy is great for boundary setting, lesson learning, binding, releasing, self growth, perseverance, and business. It's energy can be heavy, but it is strong.

The order of the planets are based off the Chaldeans (some of the very first astrologers) ,They ranked planets in apparent brightness, speed and perceived distance from the Earth. Saturn being the slowest dimmest and furthest, the moon being the closest and fastest. For those into Hermetic Kabbalah you will see that the planets match this order as they descend down the tree of life. It is pretty elegant - if you notice that starting with Sunday and moving hour by hour through the consecutive days, the pattern never breaks.
