Colors and Magic

Welcome my magical friends! Today we are taking a look at colors, their basic use in magic and some of their common correspondences Colors are a creative and powerful way to add extra layers to your magic, manifestation or intention and can be implemented in many ways to enhance your work.

How do we implement the beauty of the rainbow? Let's start with tools and spell ingredients - working with candles, satchels, cords, poppets, wax figures, inks, paint or even glitter are all ways to incorporate the color associated with your desired intention. We can also include wearing colors aligned with your intention, if you do not have clothing or fabric - try yarn or ribbon that can be woven into your hair or wrapped around the wrist. White can stand in place of any color. Use LED lights to splash your space with the color(s) of your choice. Colors are also associated with different frequencies. Find the sound frequency associated with that color and play it while you work. Try Color meditation where you focus on the color in a form, surrounding you or just as a glowing light in your mind. Decorate the space you are doing your magic in with flowers, stones, or fabrics in the colors of your intention. Mix and match colors to add even more layers. Why stop at Green for abundance? Let's add some Gold, and Brown! Want to add some confidence to the mix? Maybe you are going for a promotion - throw some Orange in there for business and confidence. Magic is like a symphony - layers of harmonic vibrations and still room for a solo. Why do we do this at all? In a nutshell, Colors are thought to correspond with certain frequencies, vibrations and energy types. We see this represented very well in the Chakra system, Planetary Magic, Pagan Systems, Sound Healing, Energy Healing, Folk Magic, etc. Many cultures associate colors with something whether it be Luck, Love, Life, Death Protection and so on. This goes beyond magic too, did you know there is a whole type of research dedicated to color psychology? Think about what colors make you feel most "powerful", what colors do you avoid? Why do you think this is so (beyond that it looks good on you) ? Magic or science, doesn't matter. There is clearly something to it that we all can pick up on.
